2016 Acura RLX Engine, Price

The Acura RLX is known as what’s called the “Flagship car” of the Acura line and is known to come with many options and the 2016 Acura RLX is no different. But is it worth buying?

The 2016 Acura RLX comes in your choice in powertrain allowing you to pick between a gas powered motor or a hybrid (Gas and electric). The gas powered only version is powered by a 3.5 v6 engine and makes 310 hp and supposedly gets 20 mpg/31 hwy for a combined 24 mpg overall however, it’s hybrid counterpart is just a step above it. The hybrid which has AWD (all wheel drive) is controlled by a v6 engine which powers the front wheels and a separate electric motor which controls the rear wheels. The combination of both these engines gives the hybrid version of the 2016 Acura RLX a whopping 377 hp which is 67 hp more than its gas only little brother and gets 28/31 mpg.

2016 Acura RLX Review

The Acura RLX is not a sports car however, it’s meant to be a luxury car! The RLX is not the type of car the screams attention despite the fact that this is supposed to be the brand’s flagship. The Exterior is really bland and does not reflect the luxury status that it is supposed to represent. The exterior is estimated to be about 2 inches wider than the RL model it replaced but is supposedly the same length. Capable of holding u to 5 passengers, the 2016 Acura RLX lives up to luxury standard. Inside there is a dual screen info system in the center dash and a pleasant power steering wheel adjustment system. The RLX is spacious in the rear it is estimated to have about 38.8 inches of legroom while still having 15 cubic feet of free space in the trunk. The touch option inside are also nice…in theory. They however, are very annoying to deal with and would be better off with just regular buttons/switches.

2016 Acura RLX Price and Release Date

The RLX was released on June 3rd 2015 and came with a slew of options such as the “lane keeping assist system” “krell audio system”, navigation and rearview camera are just to name a few. The RLX gas powered only version with the tech package starts at $54,450 and with the advance package goes for roughly $60,450. The RLX hybrid however is a bit more costly. The hybrid RLX with the tech package cost roughly $59,950 while the advance package version goes for $69,950.

The Acura RLX in my opinion is by no means a beautiful car it however, is a capable car, and is very nice from the inside and is also very comfortable and roomy and comes loaded with a ton of features… however for the its price, whether it’s worth buying or not is completely up to the buyer.
