Except for the removable roof, the rest of exterior features are mainly a carryover of the 488 GTB. It features similar wide front air intakes, scalloped air intakes at the rear, air ducts in the hood as well as the curves and character lines of the 488 GTB. It has a spaceframe chassis made of 11 different aluminum alloys blend with other metals like aluminum. Ferrari claims that this blending has actually led to 23% improvement in its chassis rigidity.

The interior is identical to that of the 488 GTB coupe. As such, it comes with a 3-spoke steering wheel along with standard Ferrari buttons, sports seats and a two-tone dashboard. The interior also features the red Ferrari rev counter. At the rear, the glass window can be adjusted to 3 positions which optimize wind flow when the roof is lowered. The glass can also be lowered when the top is up to enjoy the soundtrack of the engine.
