2016 GMC Terrain Changes, Released

Posting the best sales in the year 2014, GMC Terrain is carrying its sales, beating competitors, and making profits. GMC have continued with new refresh 2016 model year, which will see the fundamental formula left the same under a raft of trim and cosmetic changes. The new 2016 GMC Terrain and the up line Terrain Denali has received mid-cycle updates that matches tastefully revised styles with wider availability of more enhanced safety features. The model has also been simplified and its lineup will consist of SLE, SLT, SL, and Denali trims. GMC refers the new Terrain as a “more compact SUV”. While the height may be close to segment-setting make ups such as Nissan Juke, it is nearly 2 feet longer.

Exteriorly the design has some changes which include chrome-accented grille in the SLT, SLE, and the Denali grades, LED daylight running lights on the advanced trim levels, power dome hood design, and more revised rear and front fascia with chrome accents. New 19- and 18-inch wheel designs have been added, dependent on the trim. The model has two added exterior colors, Crimson Red and White Frost Tintcoat, are new in the 2016 model. Others exterior changes for 2016 model comprise of, a restyled grille and updates to the front end.

The 2016 GMC Terrain interior is highly designed and has five seats and comes normal with an audio system of six-speaker, satellite radio, Bluetooth, a rearview camera ,a USB port, a 7-inch touch-screen components and a 4G LTE system incorporated with a Wi-Fi hot spot. Other available features are: adjustable front seats, a steering wheel that is leather-wrapped, remote start, entertainment system in the rear-seat, an 8-speaker Pioneer audio component, sunroof and IntelliLink infotainment system that includes Pandora Internet radio and Siri Eyes voice recognition for phone and audio functions. Lane departure warning, forward collision alert, side blind alert, rear park assist and rear crossing traffic alert are other available interior features.

The new 2016 Terrain carries over the basic driveline arrangements from the preceding generation, it offers a choice of two engines firstly a 2.4-l four-cylinder, which can produce a horsepower of 182 and pound-ft torque of 172.Secondly a 3.6-l V-6 producing 301 horsepower and pound-ft of torque 272. All this engines use direct injection and thus improve fuel efficiency. A 6-speed automatic transmission will power either all 4 wheels or only the front wheels. GMC anticipate that the 4-cylinder engine on can achieve 32 mpg freeway fuel economy.

2016 GMC Terrain Price and Release Date

The release date of the 2016 GMC Terrain has not yet been confirmed officially. More anticipation is that it should be at the marketplace by the early of 2016 or end of 2015 with the price tag staring form $24,000 to $30,000.
