2016 Hyundai Genesis Coupe Changes

New Hyundai Genesis Coupe will be significantly different than the current model, starting with its size. The model will be longer than before, while the width will probably stay in the same range. Both front and rear ends are changed, while the rear end received even more extreme redesigning than the front. Earlier on, the Hyundai released sedan version of the Genesis, which already went through the redesign. The upcoming Genesis Coupe will be built on a shortened version of the same platform used for the sedan. This may be the reason for extended length of the Coupe, which will now get closer to sedan. This will enable the Coupe to compete with BMW 6-Series and Mercedes E-Class Coupe.

Design cues will be taken from the HND-9 Concept vehicle, which was showcased earlier on, at the 2013 Seoul Auto Show. Its seating capacity is extended to 4 passengers. Changes will probably influence the weight of the model, but also numerous feature upgrades. Interior will be more refined, and luxurious than before. Besides space, interior will also benefit from better materials overall.

Under the hood of the 2016 Hyundai Genesis Coupe there is couple of alterations. The 4-cylinder engine is no longer available. Base engine now is a 3.8 liter twin-turbo V6 with 348 hp and 295 pound-feet of torque. However, this might not be the case with latest Genesis Coupe, since recently various reliable sources stated that this V6 could be replaced with a turbocharged 3.3-liter variant, which will be capable to deliver around 350 horsepower. According to latest rumors, we could expect the V8 powertrain to be offered as option. Currently in the game is a 5.0-liter V8 unit, which will deliver around 420 horsepower. Transmission choices are still unknown.
