The 2016 Hyundai ix20 is a pretty new automobile in the market. However, despite it being around for around five years only, the little hatchback has achieved a lot that many brands dream of. The car has attracted over 300,000 customers in Europe alone and has won a number of accolades including the best family cars of the year award in Belgium and the best supermini MPV at the UK’s Auto Express awards. The new Hyundai model has been further enhanced so as to improve the cars appeal to even more customers.

The 2016 Hyundai ix20 has received some new modifications on its outer look. To start with, the hatchback has been hooked up with a new hexagonal-shaped front grille. The grille is flanked on both sides by two newly designed bi-functions LED headlights. The rear also features redesigned LED taillights. The grille is offered in two types. A buyer can either chose the bars type or the mesh type that features chrome finishing. The car rides on 15-inch wheels as standard. However, buyers have an option for 16-inch or 17-inch alloy wheels.

On the inside, the car looks pleasant. The cabin features two interior color options i.e. a black tone and 2-tone beige. The interior is also upholstered in quality cloth. The vehicle stretches 411.5 cm long and stands at a height of 160.0 cm. This translates to ample head and legroom for occupants. The car will accommodate five people inclusive of the driver. The mini offers plenty of cargo space for a car of tits size. It offers 440 liters of space when rear seats are up and the space increases to 1486 liters when the seats are folded. Other features include a modern audio system with integrated MyMusic, iPod connectivity as well as a USB port, AUX connection, Bluetooth connectivity and a heated steering wheel. Security wise, the vehicle comes with 6 airbags, ABS, EBD and ESP all as standard offerings.

2016 Hyundai ix20 Engine

The 2016 Hyundai ix20 comes with a choice of 4 engines under its hood. The engines have been redesigned to offer better fuel economy and performance. All engines are paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission system. The first diesel engine which is a 1.4 L unit produces 140 NM of torque while the second engine, a 1.6 L unit produces 260 NM of torque at only 1,500 rpm. The petrol engines on the other hand include 1.4 L unit that features Continuous Variable Valve Timing and a 1.6 L engine from the Hyundai ‘Gamma’ family. Both engines have had their efficiency boosted. The ix20 is also fitted with Integrated Stop & Go, an alternator management system, a drag-reducing “active air flap” in the front grille and low-rolling resistance tires to improve its fuel economy. The auto maker is yet to announce an official date or prices. However, we expect the vehicle to hit dealerships before the end of 2015. The 2016 Hyundai ix20 will have a starting price of 14,000 pounds.
