The official presentation of the 2016 Lincoln MKX at Detroit this year marks the first luxury cross over SUV and Lincoln company has presented outside the American continent. It should hit the US markets first and then expand to other world markets later. Its release date is unknown but it is presumed to hit the Us markets till the fall of the year 2015. The price of the 2016 Lincoln MKX is below $40,000, starting from just $32,000 to at most $38,000 for the higher trim levels of the model.

The new Lincoln MKX actually has more muscle and a lithe body with a highly sophisticated long fender arches and a tapered roof-line as compared to today’s chubby MKX. The Lincoln’s trademark split grille is perfectly formed with very thin, horizontal flats that flow into the delicate headlight units and it’s LED sign lights. It has a powerfully looking pseudo spoiler that is integrated into the lift gate below the windows. Also the rear LED lighting enables an ultra thin take on the Lincoln MKX’s full width tail light concept. The MKX has an advantage to its Ford Edge siblings due to the fact that it is separated from its next generation completely. The wheel diameters vary between 18 and 22 inches unlike other show vehicles.

There is an increased use of knobs and buttons in this car as Ford revealed. The Lincoln MKX utilizes less of the capacitive touch switch gear that controls the MKZ sedan model. This model has introduced the first high end exclusive revel audio system known as the Quantum Logic Surround . It’s front seats have active motion and ca be adjusted in 22 ways with 11 adjustable air bladders. The 2016 Lincoln MKX has a MyLincoln mobile application, giving it the ability to lock, locate, start and unlock the vehicle through a Smartphone. The luxurious SUV is completely equipped with a 360 degree camera with additional 12 sensors that help enhance parking.

There are two engine options under the hood of this luxurious 2016 MKX. Its main novelty is a 2.7 liter, twin turbo charged EcoBoost V6 engine that delivers 330 horsepower and more than 370 lb-ft of torque. The base engine on the other hand is a 3.7 liter V6 engine that produces 300 horsepower and additional 280 pound feet of torque. The MKX comes with front wheel drive as a standard while it’s intelligent all wheel drive comes as an option. These two engines are mated with a 6 speed automatic transmission that has both the push button shift and select shift system.
