2016 Opel Antara Release Date, Price

Almost a decade after releasing the first ever 2016 Opel Antara, this automaker will be launching a completely new redesigned model of its SUV next year. New engines, framework and redesigned interior are expected from the new generational model. For a model that’s been on the market for 10 years, and had only one major update six years ago, it’s hard to expect it to be competitive on the market, but the redesign and improved engines, just might do the trick for this Opel‘s brand new compact SUV.

The new 2016 Opel Antara is a model that’s been redesigned only once after its original release, back in 2010 and the newest edition is highly attractive. Just as it was the case with some of other models, it will be based on its Buick relative, this time the Envision and the newly designed exterior will be similar to Mokka, another one of Opel’s finest. The chassis is being redesigned and improved with new damper aiming to enhance its performance. The new Antara will be featured with revamped fog lights and tail lights, while the car enthusiasts will be able to choose between three stylish colors; white, gray and the inevitable black.

As well as the exterior, the interior of the new model is also being redesigned. Full of high tech features, such as an improved parking brake that operates electrically and a gearshift indicator, all located in the brand new center console with additional space for storage. The airbags are placed both sideways and at the front, and the trunk of the car is equipped with a minor tool box for a quick car problem fix.

2016 Opel Antara Engine

Regarding its performance, the new 2016 Opel Antara is being expected to have more power than previous Opel models. Acceleration from 0 to 60 miles per hour is expected in an 8 second interval. Two engines are expected under its hood. Horsepower of 260 is being delivered with a 2.0 liter turbocharged engine, while the second engine is bound to consist of a 2.0 liter CDTI turbo generating 159 hp. These engines will be combined with either manual or automatic transmission. Although, there is speculation about the third engine, a 3.0 liter V6, it still hasn’t been officially confirmed. Needles to say, Opel is taking care of the environment, as the new Antara’s power units have reduced C02 emissions.
