2016 Toyota Camry Performance, MPG

The 2016 Toyota Camry has consistently ranked as one of the top-selling midsize sedans in America for nearly a decade now. After undergoing an impressive and well-received redesign just last year, the Toyota Camry is already drawing anticipation from automotive enthusiasts regarding specs, price and of course, launch date.

2016 Toyota Camry Exterior and Interior

Since the Toyota Camry was just recently redesigned for 2015, it is likely that the 2016 Camry will carryover many of the same traits. The 2015 Camry features a boldly redesigned body, differing from its predecessors in just about everything except for the roof. This all-new Camry is distinguishable by it’s striking new front end– which is bold enough to draw younger drivers but not so starkly different that it scares long-time Camry drivers away. The 2016 Camry may feature a few new cosmetic tweaks, but it will probably stay true to the striking new style of the 2015 model.

For 2015, the Toyota Camry got an upgraded interior comprised of new materials and new technologies. The most noticeable interior change was getting rid of the old LED clock that sat front and center in the Camry console since 2011. Without the clock, the center console takes on a more fluid and contemporary look for 2015. In terms of technology, the 2015 Camry saw the thoughtful addition of an available wireless charging station so that drivers and passengers can charge their devices without getting tangled up in cords.

Toyota has always supplied multiple engine options for the Camry, and 2015 was no exception. The economical 4-cylinder Toyota Camry provides an EPA-estimated 35 highway MPG, while the sport-tuned V6 provides up to an EPA-estimated 31 highway mpg. For 2016, similar engine options and EPA-estimated fuel economies are anticipated.

2016 Toyota Camry Price and Release Date

The base model of the 2015 Toyota Camry starts at $22,970. The Toyota Camry is expected to be priced at this level or slightly above. All trims of the 2016 Camry are expected to appear in dealer showrooms late this summer or early fall. At the 2015 Chicago Auto Show, a 2016 Toyota Camry Special Edition was unveiled. Since the Camry is so popular and carries a “mainstream” image, Toyota wanted to provide a special version designed to stand out. The Special Edition Camry is similar to the 2015 model, but features some street-savvy upgrades like 18-inch aluminum rims and a smoked tail-lamp treatment. This 2016 Camry comes in two attention-grabbing exterior colors: Blue Streak Metallic and Blizzard Pearl.
