2018 Porsche Cayman GT4-RS Review, Interior

The new 2018 Porsche Cayman GT4-RS will have the advantage of a mid-ship configuration, which results to an amazing and tremendous road race car. Porsche will combine everything acquired during development of the new 911 GT3, with GT4 RS as an affordable alternative. It will definitely have exquisite exterior and interior designs, enhanced aerodynamics, powerful drivetrains for racing, in addition to improved fuel economy. Cayman GT4 and the GT4-RS will most likely have similar relationship to that between the GT3 and GT3 RS. It will receive louvered front fenders and re-shaped rear fender intakes to improve cooling. The front splitter will be bigger and a larger rear wing, but not as big as GT3’s to further enhance aerodynamics. It will definitely have the mandatory GT4 RS badge just below the wing, and since the GT4-RS is almost similar to GT4, it will receive exclusive colors for only this model and 20 inches wheels.

The interior will also be almost similar to the 2018 Porsche Cayman GT4-RS model with the standard equipment featuring a range of race specific features including a steering wheel wrapped in Alcantara and the whole cabin layout, a carbon fiber racing bucket seats, Track Precision App and aluminum trim, in addition to the Sport Chrono package. For safety purposes, it will get a roll cage just behind the front seats, 6 point driver safety harness, fire extinguisher and light-weight door handles. Some of the basic interior design features will include an automatic air conditioner, a touchscreen display, safety systems aided by camera, active instrument display, a modern audio system, USB port, Bluetooth wireless, Wi-Fi connectivity and navigation system.

2018 Porsche Cayman GT4-RS Engine 

The new Porsche Cayman will be powered by a 3.8 liter flat six powertrains, with an output of 410 horsepower. The same engine in 911 GT3 generates 475 horsepower and 385 horsepower in the previous GT4 Cayman, therefore the 2018 Porsche Cayman GT4-RS will be more powerful and lighter as compared to the standard version. The strong flat six engine will be connected to a 6 speed manual transmission system making it the only RS model with a clutch pedal. Its chassis will consist of components from the 911 GT3, with the Ceramic Composite Brake system offered as standard. It will have an acceleration time from 0 to 60 mph in 4 seconds, with a top speed of up to 186 mph, as compared to the standard Cayman GT4, which can reach 60 mph in 4.2 seconds and a top speed of up to 183 mph.

2018 Porsche Cayman GT4-RS Release Date and Price

2018 Porsche Cayman GT4-RS will is scheduled for release in the last quarter of 2017, but the release date has not been officially announced. Its price is expected to be slightly more than $100,000 for the base version.
